Nora and I visited the New York State Library today for an orientation program. The visit was very productive, we learned a lot, and have a new understanding of NYSL operations and programs. They also have a great rare books and manuscript collection!
Among the myriad pieces of information coming out of the various meetings is that employees--including faculty--of SUNY four-year colleges and universities and statutory colleges can obtain borrowers cards entitling them to use e-resources that are otherwise unavailable remotely. That is different from the NOVEL databases, which are available to all eligible residents of NYS. For more information, click here.
